Good to know
Know your G1 rules
Always drive with a qualified accompanying driver. They must hold a full Class G licence or higher, have at least 4 years of driving experience, and sit in the front passenger seat beside you.
No driving from midnight to 5 a.m. G1 drivers cannot drive between 12:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m.
Zero alcohol. As a G1 driver, you must maintain a zero blood-alcohol level whenever you drive.
Everyone must wear a seat belt. Every passenger must have and use a properly working seat belt.
Highway restrictions apply. G1 drivers generally cannot drive on 400-series highways or certain high-speed expressways, unless accompanied by an Ontario-certified driving instructor.
